Today, the ISPL and GWSC-AIT team had an insightful discussion with Dr. Atitaya Panuvatvanich (Deputy Director, NATS Laboratory, AIT) and Dr. Sanit Arunplod (Research Scientist, AIT) on the potential of integrating sensor technology into Sanitation Service monitoring. Their work explores how sensors on desludging vehicles could track volume and GIS locations in real-time, offering valuable data for better decision-making.

In this joint discussion, we shared how IMIS tracks the FSM service chains from emptying to safe disposal and explored its potential to integrate sensor data for more precise and automated monitoring. This conversation highlighted how IMIS can adapt to different technologies, opening up new possibilities for improving data-driven service management.

We successfully hosted a workshop on ‘Brainstorming the Potential of Integrating Existing Municipal Systems with IMIS’ in Mahalaxmi Municipality, bringing together the Honorable Mayor, Vice Mayor, Ward Chairmen, Chief Administrative Officer, and key municipal officials. The session facilitated insightful discussions on leveraging IMIS to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery. As a token of appreciation, we had the privilege of presenting the Honorable Mayor with a token of love on behalf of GWSC-AIT, recognizing his leadership in driving digital transformation at the municipal level. This marks a significant step toward building smarter, more efficient municipalities!

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS), a GIS-based Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) designed to transform municipal governance. Jointly organized by GWSC at the Asian Institute of Technology and Innovative Solution Pvt. Ltd., with support from the Gates Foundation, IMIS empowers local governments with data-driven decision-making, advances Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) while contributing to SDG 6.2, and streamlines various urban services. By promoting efficient, inclusive, and sustainable cities, IMIS is set to revolutionize public service delivery, embedding data-driven, evidence-based decision-making into municipal governance.
